The Brubeck Institute
VISUAL DESIGN, THREE NATIONAL DESIGN AWARDS
I worked closely with the director of the Brubeck Institute to rebrand the annual Brubeck Festival, Summer Jazz Colony and the Institute itself. The projects included a variety of event collateral and institutional publications.
The designs were the result of an exceptional client-designer relationship. Both the director and I wanted to push the project creatively, in the spirit of jazz legend Dave Brubeck himself. Our goal was to have the festival posters become keepsake art pieces and bring the prestige of the event to a new level. I embraced the opportunity to get my hands dirty and created new, custom artwork for a four year series of festival posters. The new designs helped increase event attendance, were used as advancement leave-behind pieces and received three national design awards. Congratulations from the late Dave Brubeck and his wife Iola were icing on the cake.
